Grand Prix of the Netherlands

TT Circuit Assen

Jun 26-28 Assen, Netherlands Sprint Weekend

Circuit Highlights

The Cathedral of MotoGP

TT Circuit Assen is the only venue to have hosted a Grand Prix every year since the championship began in 1949. Riders and fans call it "The Cathedral."

Purpose-built motorcycle circuit

Unlike most tracks shared with cars, Assen was designed for motorcycle racing. Flowing corners, excellent run-off, and sightlines built for two-wheeled action.

Festival camping atmosphere

The Dutch TT is as much a festival as a race. Campsites around the circuit host thousands of fans from Thursday onward with parties running late every night.

Sprint weekend format

Saturday sprint race + Sunday main event. Two chances to see MotoGP flat out.

Cycling culture

Assen is in the Netherlands — bikes (pedal-powered) are the best way to get around. Cycle to the circuit and skip the traffic entirely.

Dutch TT tradition since 1949

The oldest continuously running Grand Prix on the calendar. The event is a national institution in the Netherlands with sell-out crowds every year.

Quick FAQ

How do I get from Assen station to the circuit?

City bus line 1 runs from Assen station to the circuit, and extra shuttle buses operate on race days. The journey takes about 15 minutes. Alternatively, it is a 20-minute bike ride — free cycle parking is available at the circuit.

Can I camp at the Dutch TT?

Yes — camping is a Dutch TT tradition. Multiple campsites surround the circuit, from basic fields to organised sites with full facilities. Book early — popular sites sell out months in advance.

What time do gates open?

Gates typically open at 8:00 AM on all three days. Campers with circuit-adjacent sites often have earlier access.

Do I need to print my ticket?

The circuit accepts both mobile and printed tickets. Mobile tickets work well here — Dutch infrastructure is reliable. But printing a backup is always sensible.
