Bag Policy and Security at the MotoGP Grand Prix of San Marino at Misano

Grand Prix of San Marino

Bag Policy & Security

What you can and cannot bring into Misano World Circuit

Open bottles only, food capped at ~500g

The two rules that catch first-timers out most: plastic bottles must be open (not sealed), and personal food is capped at roughly 500g. No confirmed bag size or dimension limit was found — pack a reasonably sized bag rather than assuming a specific figure.

Prohibited Items

Alcoholic beverages

Outside alcohol is prohibited regardless of container type.

Glass, metal, or wood containers

Confiscated at the gate — bring plastic only.

Drones

Prohibited outright at the circuit.

Flares, smoke bombs, or other pyrotechnics

Confiscated and grounds for refused entry.

Knives or other sharp objects

Standard security refusal — leave these at your accommodation.

Animals

No exception was confirmed for assistance animals in the source material — check directly with the circuit before travelling with one.

Bicycles, scooters, or other personal transport devices

Not permitted inside the circuit grounds.

Professional cameras with large interchangeable lenses

Standard photography and video is allowed; equipment considered "professional" is restricted.

Permitted Items

Food and non-alcoholic drinks, up to about 500g

Small quantities of personal food and non-alcoholic drinks are allowed, capped at roughly 500g per the circuit's visitor rules.

Open plastic bottles

Plastic bottles are allowed, but must be open — not sealed. A sealed, unopened bottle can be refused at security.

Sun umbrella or folding chair — GA areas only

Allowed in general admission areas as long as they don't block other fans' views. Not permitted in grandstands.

Standard cameras and phones

Photography and video are allowed for personal, non-professional equipment.

What Happens at the Gate

1

Bags are checked at circuit entrances

Every bag is checked on the way in. With no on-site parking, most fans arrive via the shuttle, bus, or little train, so build the security queue into your morning alongside the transfer time.

2

Prohibited items are confiscated

Items on the prohibited list are taken at the gate. In more extreme cases — for example, large amounts of prohibited material — entry itself can be refused.

3

Sealed bottles and oversized food get flagged

Remember the two most commonly missed rules here: bottles must be open, not sealed, and food is capped at around 500g. Both are easy to overlook if you're used to a different circuit's rules.
