Bag Policy & Security

What you can and cannot bring into Circuito de Jerez

Prohibited items are not stored — they are confiscated

The circuit has no left-luggage facility at the gate. If you bring a prohibited item, it is taken and not returned. Leave anything borderline at your hotel or in your car before you travel to the circuit.

Prohibited Items

Glass containers — any size

Including glass bottles and jars. Will be confiscated at the gate.

Metal containers

Metal water bottles, flasks, and thermoses are not permitted.

Alcohol

Outside alcohol is prohibited regardless of container type.

Plastic bottle caps

Bottles are allowed but the cap is removed and confiscated. Use a sport-top bottle instead.

Food or drink over 500g total

Keep food items below 500g combined. Small snacks and a sealed bottle are fine.

Drones and remote aircraft

Strictly prohibited. Will be confiscated and you may be refused entry.

Weapons, fireworks, flares, pyrotechnics

Any item in this category results in confiscation and immediate removal from the event.

Large umbrellas, tents, shelters

Small collapsible umbrellas are fine. Large beach umbrellas or pop-up shelters are not.

Political or offensive banners

Flags and team banners are welcome. Political or offensive content is refused.

Animals (except registered assistance dogs)

Guide dogs and certified assistance animals are permitted with documentation.

Sharp objects or tools

Standard safety rules apply. Multi-tools, knives, and similar items are refused.

Professional cameras with detachable lenses

Standard cameras and smartphones are fine. Professional DSLR with interchangeable lenses may be refused.

Permitted Items

Small backpack or tote bag

Any bag that can be easily searched by security. Oversized bags may be refused.

Plastic water bottle (no cap)

Caps are removed at the gate. A sport-top bottle with no separate cap is the practical solution.

Non-alcoholic food under 500g

Snacks, energy bars, sandwiches. Keep it reasonable — this is for personal consumption, not a picnic hamper.

Small collapsible umbrella

Hand-held compact umbrella only. Not a large golf or beach umbrella.

Portable phone charger / power bank

Personal power banks are permitted. Charge up before you go — phone signal is poor on race day.

Folding seat or cushion (GA areas only)

Lightweight foldable chairs are allowed in general admission areas. Not permitted in grandstands.

Sunscreen (non-aerosol)

Pump or lotion sunscreen is fine. Aerosol cans may be refused.

Binoculars

Personal binoculars are permitted. Useful for watching distant corners.

Standard camera (no detachable lens)

Point-and-shoot and mirrorless cameras without detachable lenses are generally fine.

Medication with documentation

If you carry prescription medication, bring the prescription or a doctor's note to avoid delays at security.

What Happens at the Gate

1

Queue for security check

Every person passes through a security check before entering. The queue builds quickly on race day — arrive early to avoid long waits. Allow an extra 15-20 minutes for the security process on Sunday.

2

Open your bag for inspection

Security staff will check your bag. Be cooperative and open all compartments. Items clearly prohibited will be confiscated. Unusual or ambiguous items may be inspected more closely.

3

Prohibited items are confiscated — not stored

There is no left-luggage or storage facility at the gate. Anything prohibited is taken and not returned. Leave prohibited items at your accommodation or in your car before coming to the circuit.

4

Bottle caps removed

If you bring a plastic bottle with a cap, the cap will be removed before you enter. The empty cap may be given back or discarded. Use a sport-top bottle to avoid this complication.

5

Ticket scan

After the bag check, your ticket is scanned. Have it ready — printed or digital. A printed ticket is recommended as mobile tickets occasionally fail to scan.
