Bag Policy & Security

What you can and cannot bring into Automotodrom Brno

Prohibited items are confiscated and disposed of

The circuit has no left-luggage facility at the gate. If you bring a prohibited item, it is taken and not returned. In extreme cases you may be refused entry entirely. Leave anything borderline at your hotel or in your car.

Prohibited Items

Alcohol — any type, any container

Outside alcohol is strictly prohibited regardless of container type. Will be confiscated at the gate.

Glass containers

Including glass bottles and jars. Will be confiscated.

Metal containers

Metal water bottles, flasks, and thermoses are not permitted.

Beverages other than water

Only water in a plastic bottle is permitted. Soft drinks, energy drinks, and juices are not allowed.

Drones and remote aircraft

All types of drones are strictly prohibited. Will be confiscated and you may be refused entry.

Open flames, fireworks, flares, pyrotechnics

Open flames of any kind are strictly prohibited within the circuit.

Tents, beach shelters, pop-up canopies

Not permitted inside the circuit grounds. Only camping-area ticket holders can pitch tents in designated zones.

Weapons, sharp objects, dangerous items

Any item that could cause injury or property damage. Standard safety rules apply.

Professional cameras with detachable lenses

Standard cameras and smartphones are fine. Professional DSLR with interchangeable lenses may be refused.

Permitted Items

Small backpack or tote bag

Any bag that can be easily searched by security. Will be inspected at the entrance.

Plastic water bottle (up to 1 litre)

One plastic water bottle per person. No glass or metal. Check current rules as cap policies can vary by year.

Small amount of personal food

A small amount for personal consumption — energy bars, a sandwich. All other food must be purchased inside.

Folding camping chair (natural grandstand only)

Lightweight foldable chairs are allowed on the natural grandstand (grassy hillside areas). Not permitted in built grandstands.

Portable phone charger / power bank

Personal power banks are permitted. Useful as phone signal struggles on race day.

Sunscreen (non-aerosol)

Pump or lotion sunscreen is fine. Aerosol cans may be restricted.

Binoculars

Personal binoculars are permitted. Useful at this circuit given the 5.4 km track length.

Standard camera (no detachable lens)

Point-and-shoot and mirrorless cameras without detachable lenses are generally fine.

Medication with documentation

Carry your prescription or a doctor's note if you need medication to avoid delays at security.

What Happens at the Gate

1

Queue for security check

Every person passes through a security check before entering. Allow 15-20 extra minutes on Sunday. Multiple entrance gates serve different ticket zones.

2

Open your bag for inspection

Security staff check all bags. Be cooperative and open all compartments. Prohibited items are identified and removed.

3

Prohibited items are confiscated — not stored

There is no left-luggage or storage facility at the gate. Confiscated items are disposed of. In extreme cases you may be refused entry.

4

Water bottle check

Only one plastic water bottle up to 1 litre per person. Check whether caps are required to be removed — this varies by year.

5

Ticket scan

After the bag check, your printed ticket is scanned. Have it ready. Printed tickets are required — digital versions may not be accepted.
